Testicular Pain
Definition
Pain that occurs in or around one or both testicles. Testicular pain may be of sudden onset or of long duration.
Causes
- Sudden injury
- Inflammation
- Sexually transmitted infections
- Medical emergencies
- Kidney stones
- Hernia
- Epididymitis
- Orchitis
Signs and symptoms may include:
- Pain in one or both testicles
- Swelling
- Redness
- Tenderness of the testicle and/or scrotum
- Nausea, vomiting, and fever
Investigations
Different causes of testicular pain can be diagnosed using blood tests, urine analysis, and imaging studies, in addition to a complete physical exam.
TREATMENT (Ayurvedic)
Ayurveda approaches testicular pain by addressing the underlying causes and imbalances in the body’s doshas.
- Herbal Remedies: Ayurvedic herbs like Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris), Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), and Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) may help reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and support overall reproductive health.
- Dietary Modifications: Follow a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Avoid spicy, oily, and processed foods. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and help flush out toxins from the body.

- Avoid Prolonged Sitting: Sitting for long periods, especially on hard surfaces, can exacerbate testicular pain. Take regular breaks to stand up, stretch, and walk around to improve blood flow to the pelvic region.
