Shalya means that which creates pain or agony to the body or mind and Shalyatantram is the branch which deals with the technique by which this cause ( Shalya) is removed.

Shalyatantram Department can be divided into 3 major areas.

1. Surgery: Treatments which requires Surgical & Parasurgical Procedures
2. Orthopedics
3. Marma Chikitsa: The branch concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal systems (muscles, bones & joints)

Surgical Aspect mainly focus on

• Anorectal Cases:-Piles, Fistula, Fissure, Polyp Rectal prolapse etc.
• Various non healing ulcer:– Diabetic ulcer venous ulcer etc
• Arterio Venous disorders like:-Varicose vein, T.A.O etc

Orthopedic Aspect mainly focus on
